Two cycle oil is for lightweight engines to use the crankcase as part of the induction tract, and therefore, oil must be mixed with gasoline in the engine for lubrication. The two-stroke oil is burned with the fuel resulting in exhaust with a blue smoke and/or a distinctive odor.
